Grief, Grace & Gratitude A Mothers Day Memorial Candlemaking Workshop

Mother’s Day is a challenging celebration for any woman who has experienced the death of her child. As a mother who unfortunately lost her son to gun violence, I know first-hand the emotional rollercoaster one experiences on a day usually reserved as a joyous reflection of being a mother.

My way of coping through the past 3 Mother's Day without hearing my son Jalen simple say "Happy Mother's Day, Ma", has been to RheePurpose my emotions and do something for other mothers now journeying in similar shoes and for at least a moment. bless them by putting a smile on their face.

I’m looking to bless 30 mothers who will be celebrating this upcoming Mother's Day as their first after experiencing the loss of a child by hosting a Memorial Candlemaking Workshop to honor her and her child.
